The striped bass fishing continued to improve in both quantity and quality. Stripers from the high teens to 40 pounds continued to be caught trolling parachute jigs or tubes on wire line off Block Island
Some good bucks continue to be reported from bowhunters as rutting activity kicks in. Not a lot of fishing going on right now, and it will stay that way until ice fishing season arrives
A few anglers have been hitting the east of Hudson reservoirs, but not enough to get a solid report of what’s happening. Bowhunters are taking their last stands before the Southern Zone firearms opener Nov.
Beaverkill/Willowemoc: Open for fishing through Nov. 30. Delaware East Branch: Fishing above Shinhopple Bridge ended Oct. 15. The lower section stays open until Nov. 30 and is good for late-season BWO hatches for some decent
St. Lawrence River: Muskie hunters are out on the river, and some big fish – 50 inches and over – have been reported. Black Lake: Not a lot of fishing taking place now with deer
LAKE MILLE LACS Muskie anglers continue to find some success with large sucker minnows or rubber baits on the shallow rocks and reefs. These same rocks will hold smallmouth bass, but fishing pressure for them
NORTHEAST METRO Crappies are hitting on Big Marine Lake in 15 to 20 feet and along the shoreline of Carver Lake. Bass continue to be caught on sucker minnows at Demontreville Lake, while the weedlines
ALEXANDRIA AREA Hunter success was strong during opening weekend of the deer season with most groups seeing and shooting good numbers of deer. Waterfowl hunters are seeing more geese than ducks this week. Lake Miltona
