Northeast Pennsylvania Fish Report – December 18th, 2015t

Susquehanna River (Luzerne, Columbia counties) — Fishing pressure picked up in early December and the walleye bite turned on. Anglers were making nice catches between Nanticoke and Macanaqua, with the best baits reportedly crawler rigs or soft plastics tipped with a leech.

Nescopeck Creek, Lake Irena, Lily Lake (Luzerne County) — Nice catches of stocked trout were reported through early December. 

Susquehanna River (Susquehanna, Bradford counties) — Nice walleyes were reported on perch-patterned crankbaits.

Lake Wallenpaupack (Pike, Wayne counties)  — Striped bass were hitting on large shiners through the end of November. 

Lehigh River — Browns and rainbows were hitting in recent weeks. 

Bushkill Creek (Northampton County) — Recently stocked trout were hitting. 

Minsi Lake (Northampton County) — Trout were hitting on fathead minnows through early December. A few largemouth bass also were reported, with shiners the ticket.

Beltzville Lake (Carbon County) — Smallmouth bass were reported on shiners and legal-size striped bass were reported by anglers trolling through early December.
