With the warmer and more stable weather, the walleye bite has gotten a lot better this past week. Many walleyes have already spawned, so keep that in mind for the upcoming week.
The spring crappie fishing continues to heat up and we’re seeing some solid patterns developing. Water temps are getting to where they need to be (and are finally staying there).
On Lake Michigan, bass fishing has been pretty good, with big pre-spawn fish being caught in the usual protected areas near structure.
The Lower Peninsula walleye and pike opener was good with good reports coming from a lot of areas of the state including the Tittabawassee River.

The only thing consistent this spring has been the wind – it’s the windiest spring on record. Walleyes are still being caught by those who find the time to go out between windy periods.
