Factors that figure into finding lake trout in Minnesota’s Boundary Waters
One of my favorite Boundary Waters rituals is the exchange of fishing information on portages. It’s a chance for the outgoing angler to brag a little, and the incoming crew to get a leg up on the fish.
This information is gold anytime, but especially when targeting lake trout from a canoe. Lakers can be anywhere in the spring, and it takes time to find them paddling. So, this year on my BWCA trip, like so many before, I worked a couple of proud anglers for information.
