Between fishing seasons? White suckers of spring are ‘running’ for Minnesota anglers

While first typing these words, March 2026 was delivering a foot of snow to Minnesota. Last week looked and felt like winter, but warm weather already had ruined the ice. What is an angler to do between ice fishing and spring crappies? Make maple syrup?!
Fear not, white sucker fishing starts even before ice fishing ends and is more fun than boiling sap.
