The Quail and Upland Game Alliance will host a sporting clays shooting competition Aug. 2 at the Rend Lake Shooting Complex in Illinois.
Youth age 16 and under will shoot for free, while cost for others will be $85 per shooter. The cost includes 100 targets, a full meal, and a $20 donation directly supporting QUGA’s conservation efforts.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation recently closed Goodman Mountain in the town of Tupper Lake due to the presence of a bull moose observed over an extended period of time.
Just prior to press time the agency reported the moose was still in the area and the trail was still closed, and advised the public to stay clear of the area as it is suspected the moose may have some form of illness.
