Boat from 2022 Lake Erie walleye scandal in Ohio up for auction

A fishing boat valued at $130,000 and linked to an Ohio criminal case that made national headlines is now up for auction, according to WJW TV in Cleveland.
In May 2023, Jacob Runyan, 43, of Cleveland, and Chase Cominsky, 36, of Hermitage, Pa., were sentenced to jail after pleading guilty to cheating in a walleye fishing tournament on Lake Erie. As part of their penalty, they had to forfeit the boat they used in the tournament to the Ohio Division of Wildlife. The 2022 boat is now posted as part of a government online auction.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, the Ohio DNR (ODNR), and Intel recently announced a new H2Ohio partnership to protect and improve water quality in the Licking Watershed.
“Water means business here in Ohio, and we are excited about partnering with Intel on an H2Ohio project that aligns with a mission we are both dedicated to – protecting our water,” said DeWine. “I appreciate that Intel cares as much as we do about the quality of Ohio’s water.”

Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding joined Danville Area High School agriculture teacher and forester Van Wagner at Blue Knob State Park in Bedford County recently to raise awareness of Pennsylvania’s hardwood forests, and the investments of the Shapiro administration in agriculture and recreation to help grow Pennsylvania’s economy.
“The value of our forests extends far beyond the $39 billion our hardwoods industry feeds into our economy every year,” Redding said.

Pennsylvania Game Commission seeks feedback from antlerless deer license buyers

The Pennsylvania Game Commission announced in mid-June that it is asking hunters to provide feedback on their antlerless deer license buying experience this summer.
After the agency received a black eye in a highly publicized online license-sales snafu last summer, it revamped the process. This summer, when license sales got underway June 24, antlerless deer licenses became available only for the three wildlife management units where demand is highest – units 1B, 2G and 3A.
