A recent legal action decided by the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York for the Fourth Judicial Department, which hears matters arising in the western part of the state, demonstrated the importance of section 9-103 of the New York State General Obligations Law to landowners who allow hunting and other outdoor recreation on their property and, indirectly, to people who engage in outdoor recreation on private lands.
