It might be difficult to imagine that a 400-acre lake in Vilas County wouldn’t have a few muskies swimming around in it, but that appears to be the case with Anvil Lake, which sits about 9 miles east of the popular vacation town of Eagle River.
That probably doesn’t matter to most anglers, though, who find Anvil’s walleyes, panfish, smallmouth bass and largemouths reason enough to fish the lake’s clear waters.
