Low water levels could add waterfowling challenges on Minnesota’s Marsh, Lac qui Parle lakes

As waterfowl hunting begins, a few hot spots for hunters will look a little different this year, including Marsh and Lac qui Parle lakes in western Minnesota.
Walt Gessler, DNR wildlife manager at Lac qui Parle Wildlife Management Area, said Marsh Lake will be recovering from a planned drawdown. “Last year we had a pretty high water, and we hit trigger points in the management plan in Marsh Lake for initiating another drawdown,” Gessler said.
