Decision to end deputy law enforcement officers programs in Pennsylvania leaves many hurt, angry

An angry, bewildered reaction from across the state swiftly followed the revelation in early August that the Pennsylvania Game Commission and the Fish & Boat Commission jointly were ending their 100-plus-year-old deputy law enforcement officers programs.
By midmonth, the agencies had abruptly dismissed more than 120 deputy game wardens and 36 deputy waterways conservation officers.
