I hear this question a lot: “How do I catch and locate big bluegills?”
Not being a bobber person, I always recommend trolling itty-bitty crankbaits that run shallow and are about 2 inches long. At this time of August, most ’gills are either above the weeds or on the edge at around 11 feet. Tiny cranks run about 4 feet and are perfect for just ticking the weeds.
