Two children were injured – one fatally – in separate boating-related incidents in May, and an adult drowned in March, according to the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission.
Gesar Albarracin Guncay, 12, of Sag Harbor, N.Y., died May 27 when the inflatable raft he shared with four others capsized during a school excursion on the Lehigh River in Carbon County. The raft struck a strainer, or fallen tree, ejecting all occupants into the water, according to a Fish & Boat Commission report.
