Minnesota DNR launches new Electronic Licensing System while waiting for Apple; license sales lag behind 2025

DNR officials expect the MN DNR Licensing app should be available soon through the Apple App Store, but as of Tuesday morning's rollout of the new Electronic Licensing System it was not available there. The Minnesota DNR launched its new Electronic Licensing System on Tuesday with a bump in the road when the Apple App Store did not have the MN DNR Licensing app immediately available. Visitors trying to find the app via their iPhones early Tuesday weren’t having any luck.
DNR staff said the new system had launched seamlessly on other platforms, including Android-based smartphones and browser versions on laptops and tablets. As of early Tuesday, staff were optimistic the Apple version would be posted soon.
