To say that Fran Stack, a lifelong Lorain resident and ardent walleye angler, was excited to see the Hot Waters boat launch reopen would be kind of an understatement.
When the City of Lorain held the ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the completion of the ramp renovations, Stack arrived an hour early with his boat. Not only was he ready to be the first angler to use the boat launch, he was appropriately attired in a suit coat to formally celebrate the occasion.
“It is very exciting. It looks nice. It launches and retrieves just fine,” Stack said. “This is the first and most important step, to be able to launch our boats safely.”
