In giving preliminary approval to hunting seasons and bag limits at their Jan. 24 quarterly meeting, Pennsylvania game commissioners voted down a proposal to start deer season the Saturday before Thanksgiving, instead keeping the opener on the Saturday after the holiday.
New this year, the season will end on Sunday, Dec. 13, adding an extra day. In past years, the season ended on a Saturday.
