Pursuit of Cloquet Forestry Center land transfer continues

A site for experimental education for the University of Minnesota and other public user groups, the Cloquet Forestry Center has been around since the early 1900s. In late August this year, the University of Minnesota announced it had reached an agreement in principle – a commitment between parties – with the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa regarding the Cloquet Forestry Center.
The agreement would allow the university to continue to operate and maintain the forestry center but transfer ownership of the 3,400 acres the center sits on to the Fond du Lac band.
