USA Angling – the organization that oversees all U.S. competitive fishing – has been lobbying for more than 10 years to get fishing recognized as an Olympic sport. Those efforts got a huge boost with the endorsement of Kalamazoo, Mich., native Kevin VanDam, one of the most recognized names in the bass fishing world.
