As the steelhead season comes to a close, many Ohio anglers across the Lake Erie tributaries put their gear away until the fall.
But, over the past few years a growing cohort of fly anglers keep their gear out and target lake-run smallmouth bass throughout the spring. Fishing the same Lake Erie tributaries known for steelhead, smallmouth begin to migrate upstream to spawn.
