Stocking of trout resumes at Big Twin Lake in Michigan’s Kalkaska County

State fisheries officials revived the trout stocking program in Big Twin in 2023 and hope anglers will now target them. In 2023, DNR Fisheries Division personnel stocked Big Twin with 9,270 rainbow trout that averaged 7.54 inches in length, and another 165 rainbows that averaged 12.
