The ice may have just come off the water, but open water angling opportunities exist for cold water spawning species of fish like walleyes during the later winter/early spring months. In fact, now is the perfect time to go after them in Ohio.
The key to catching walleyes this time of year is to find them, and the best places to find them are in the rivers and spillways below the dams of any reservoirs with fishable walleye populations. Walleyes migrate below spillways for a variety of reasons.
