The DNR held two public meetings this week on the plan to start reintroducing elk to northeastern Minnesota by spring 2026. If you couldn’t make the meetings, you still can chime in on the plan, available at the DNR’s elk-management web page.
Citizens may complete an online questionnaire there through Feb. 28. You also can submit comments via email to ne.elk.plan.dnr@state.mn.us – again through Feb. 28.
