Drilling pad near Salt Fork State Park is site of well blaze in Ohio

In accordance with the state law that governs drilling in those public areas, the pad was not on park property. (Stock photo)

It’s been a long-standing argument of the Save Ohio Parks group that oil and gas drilling rigs pose both a human and environmental threat to state parks and wildlife areas. The group opposes drilling.
An explosion and fire at a Gulfport Appalachia pad near Salt Fork State Park in early January might have added fuel to that fire.
