There is a large waterfall near my home that is the namesake of the road I live on. Visible from the roadside, it’s not uncommon for passers-by to snap a photo or two. And when spring rains and snowmelt swell the brook, I can hear the falls from my home.
But right now when you pass by the falls, they are not even visible. That may change as just about the time we go to press with this issue some much needed rain is in the forecast for most of New York. That’s good news for the areas around Southeastern New York and New Jersey where wildfires have kept firefighters on their toes and even caused evacuations.
