As drought conditions worsen across Ohio, so does the threat of wildfires.
As of Sept. 20, 37 southern, eastern, and central Ohio counties judged under extreme and exceptional drought conditions on the Ohio Drought Monitor Map were also under an outdoor open burning ban issued by the state fire marshal. That number was likely to increase weekly.
