Confidence lacking in New York’s background check debut

There’s a great deal of skepticism over the Concealed Carry Improvement Act mandated firearms and ammunition background check system that’s about to roll out in the months ahead.
As I pointed out in this space a few years ago when DEC’s new licensing system came about, I spent nearly 30 years working for a media company and not once did our software conversions and migrations ever go smoothly. And I wouldn’t expect that here.
