A family kayak trip on the Sturgeon River turned into a recovery effort for a huge set of elk antlers.
Joe Switalski, his wife Melissa, daughter Ashley, and daughter’s boyfriend Mac were about 15 minutes into a 90-minute kayak trip when Mac saw some antlers in the water.
“Initially we thought it was two sets of antlers because they were so big,” Joe Switalski told Michigan Outdoor News. “We pulled it out and had to break it free because it was still attached to the spine.”
