As July arrives, fishing strategies change as the water warms and, more importantly, young-of-the-year minnow hatches have begun. Insect hatches also are becoming more common, giving game fish more feeding opportunities than at any other time of the season.
So, I spend a lot of time working aggressive baits, hoping to trigger strikes from well-fed fish.
