Spring, fishing both warming up in South Dakota

With the arrival of warmer spring weather, anglers in central and eastern South Dakota are taking advantage of conditions as the fish bite heats up, too. (Photo by John Pollmann)

The arrival of more springlike weather across eastern South Dakota has been accompanied by a rise in fishing success for anglers, and the number of anglers dropping lines in the region’s lakes and rivers is building in response to an active mid-May bite for walleyes and other game fish.
