Pennsylvania’s disbanded deputies are still looking for answers
Several deputy game wardens said a decision by the Pennsylvania Game Commission at the beginning of the year made them question if the program was going to be phased out.
In August, they received an answer, but it was still a surprise. Kale Geiswite is a deputy game warden in Union County. He called a joint move by the Game Commission and Fish & Boat Commission to disband the deputy law enforcement program “appalling and cowardly,” and he’s still waiting for a reason behind the decision.
