Notes off a soiled cuff: Trying to make sense of decision to end Pennsylvania’s deputy law enforcement programs

After decades covering public policymaking related to hunting, fishing and natural resources management in Pennsylvania, when an unpopular decision is made that makes no sense to me, I always figure there are things I don’t know. Rarely are decision-makers initially candid about their motivations. And so it is with the Game and Fish & Boat commissions’ recent decision to jointly eliminate their deputy law enforcement officers.
