Jeremiah Haas: Expanding our love of animals to include hunting

Animal shows grow appreciation of nature differently than hunting. Communication and the sharing of stories can allow these groups to work together for conservation efforts. (Photos courtesy of Jeremiah Haas)

Hunting has seen a decreasing trend in nearly all states across the country. States are offering grants to increase participation using multiple avenues; however, the declining trend has continued the past few decades.
Recently, while at a zoo where their theme was about conservation of wild places, I could not help but wonder why the two groups are not helping each other with these issues. The quick answer is a lack of understanding of the goals each has.
