Every spring, the Northeast chapter of the American Daughters of Conservation gathers for a day spent fly-fishing on Massachusetts’ Deerfield River.

Some arrive with years of experience behind a fly rod, while others are making their very first cast. Everyone is cheering for one another and celebrating every trout that gets scooped into the net. Flowing 76 miles from southern Vermont through the Berkshires before joining the Connecticut River, the Deerfield is considered one of the premier cold-water fisheries in New England.
