Ohio Insider: What’s the outlook on CWD in Ohio as we currently stand?

ODNR Division of Wildlife deer program administrator Clint McCoy (pictured) said the Division of Wildlife last year sampled 2,600 deer in Ohio's Disease Surveillance Area and about 1,000 of those animals were voluntarily submitted for testing outside of the mandatory testing period.

I wrote in this space about the current state of chronic wasting disease (CWD) in Ohio in the July 3 issue.
There’s more meat on the bone, however, as the old saying goes. So, I offer some more information here gleaned from ODNR Division of Wildlife deer program administrator Clint McCoy during a recent interview.
