Modern westerns like Tombstone, Wyatt Earp, and Yellowstone have raised the lever-action profile. Restrictions on some “AR-style” autoloading rifles for home defense made speedy lever-actions viable in that market. The legalizing of a straight-wall “cowboy” cartridge for deer hunting in former shotgun-only states contributed.
