It was Ohio’s 2025 spring wild turkey hunting season by a nose over its just-concluded 2026 season counterpart.
The Ohio Division of Wildlife says the state’s wild turkey hunters bagged 15,887 birds during the spring 2026 season, which concluded on Sunday, May 31. This number includes the 2,058 birds taken during youth-only hunting.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is designating approximately 1.5 million acres of occupied critical habitat under the Endangered Species Act for the endangered rusty patched bumble bee.
The designation covers 33 counties in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin. The bumble bee is found primarily in urban and suburban areas in the Midwest, including metropolitan areas like Minneapolis-St. Paul; Chicago, Illinois; Iowa City, Iowa; and Milwaukee, Wis.
