Legislation in the Illinois House designed to protect wetlands in the state had not advanced as the spring session of the General Assembly hits its final month.
House Bill 3596, known as the Wetlands Protection Act, aims to establish a state-level permitting program administered by DNR to regulate the discharge of dredged or fill material into wetlands.
