Winter deer losses could be high in the Upper Peninsula and northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan after spring breakup arrived later than normal.
Most snow is normally gone by April 1 in the northern part of the state. A major blizzard that paralyzed the UP and the northern LP on March 15-16 eliminated that timeline.
