Ralph Loos: We’re building something solid – the second Michigan Outdoor News Turkey Photo Contest

Just a day or so after stepping into this role with Michigan Outdoor News, I was passed a note from Jon Gray, current president of the Michigan Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation.
Gray wondered if we wanted to continue a construction project he and my predecessor, Bill Parker, had built a sturdy foundation for last spring. During the 2025 spring season, Outdoor News and the Michigan NWTF partnered to launch something that could someday equal our Best Buck Photo Contest, which for years has been wildly popular with the state’s deer hunters.
