When turkeys break flocks, hunters better be ready

I studied a small flock of hen turkeys feeding across an eastern Ohio grassy field.

Devil’s Lake State Park in Wisconsin adds 100 acres at $325k

The Wisconsin Natural Resources Board (NRB) approved the purchase of 100 acres for Devil’s Lake State Park and the Ice Age Trail at its Feb. 25 meeting “at a bargain sale price” of $325,000 from the Conservation Fund, while the appraised value of the property was $600,000.
Kaylin Helm, DNR real estate manager, said the purchase will be funded by the Warren Knowles/Gaylord Nelson Stewardship Program.
