Steve Pollick: Turkey, black vultures are survivors

The ubiquitous black vulture are more people-tolerant and bold than are turkey vultures. Ah, yes, the iconic novelist William Faulkner nailed it when it came to his view of the big black birds that almost nobody pays any attention to – turkey vultures and black vultures. But both species are of note this time of year, for different reasons.
