Outdoor Insights: Proof that your voice matters when it comes to protecting public lands

Ariel Wiegard from Pheasants Forever and David Willms from National Wildlife Federation talk public lands last Saturday in Minneapolis.

At Pheasant Fest last Saturday at the Minneapolis Convention Center, I monitored a seminar: “America’s Public Lands: Action, Advocacy and the Path Ahead.”
The session spent a solid chunk of time commending the nation’s sportsmen and sportswomen for halting congressional language last year that would have liquidated 3 million acres of federal public lands. Though I bore quickly with congratulatory conversations, there’s something to be said for pausing and celebrating conservation wins.
