While Minnesota DNR seeks $359M for capital projects, Walz proposal is for $62M

The Minnesota DNR sought $359 million of general obligation bonds for various projects, but Gov. Tim Walz’s 2026 Infrastructure Plan allocates about $62 million for the DNR to cover a portion of the agency’s requests.
Ensuring infrastructure such as lands, buildings, and facilities are in working order supports the agency’s goals to conserve and enhance natural lands and wildlife, and supports outdoor recreation opportunities and the state’s job market.
