Planning on a new pup this winter? There are some challenges to consider

Picking up a new pup any time of the year comes with plenty of challenges, but challenges during the winter months are more unique. Potty training, basic obedience, and any gun dog work you might want to start all have some logistical issues when there is snow on the ground and the air is cold enough to sting your face. Winter might seem like the perfect time to pick up a new puppy. After all, what else do you have to do for a few months but train some obedience and wait out the spring thaw?
On paper, this might seem like a brilliant idea, but in reality it can be a much bigger challenge than at any other time of the year.
