Avian influenza appears to be impacting snow geese along the eastern edge of Pennsylvania.
In December, several hundred snow geese were discovered at a Northampton County quarry, and an avian influenza outbreak is the likely cause. Since the initial finding, the Pennsylvania Game Commission now estimates that 900 snow geese died at the site.
