Minnesota deer-poaching case from Douglas County ends with guilty plea

Pictured is evidence seized in a poaching case from Douglas County that involved the killing of multiple bucks during the 2021 through 2023 deer-hunting seasons. In October of this year, 32-year-old Riley McCabe, of Alexandria, pleaded guilty to charges of possession of an untagged big-game animal and an overlimit of deer. A poaching case from Minnesota’s Douglas County that included charges of shooting deer at night over bait, illegally taking more than the allowed one buck per year, improper registration of deer, and unlawfully using other people’s tags wrapped up this fall.
Riley McCabe, 32, of Alexandria, pleaded guilty in October to charges of possession of an untagged big-game animal and an overlimit of deer.
