West-central Minnesota’s Lake Reno site of angling pressure study

This fall, the Minnesota DNR placed 4,000 tags into bluegills, black crappies, and walleyes from Lake Reno in western Minnesota to gather information about angler pressure and fish movement in the lake. Anglers who catch tagged fish may keep them, but the agency requests that anglers report all tagged fish they keep or release. (Minnesota DNR photos)

This winter, anglers who fish Lake Reno near Glenwood likely will catch some of the 4,000 bluegills, black crappies, sunfish, and walleyes that Minnesota DNR fisheries crews tagged throughout the fall.
DNR fisheries personnel in Glenwood are hoping to learn more about fish movement and angler behavior with this tagged-fish initiative that might better inform management.
