Sandhill crane hunt bill awaits Senate action in Wisconsin

The effort to create a sandhill crane season in Wisconsin still has a ways to go, but a recent Senate committee hearing checked off one more step in the process. The bill would go to the full Senate next. (Contributed photos)

Folks who support a sandhill crane hunting season in Wisconsin can be encouraged that the Senate Committee on Financial Institutions and Sporting Heritage held a public hearing Nov. 19 on Senate Bill 112 that would create a sandhill crane season.
However, there are many steps ahead that must be completed for the hunting bill to pass and the season to become a reality.
