New York officials address future land purchases

Changes are expected to expedite New York’s ongoing 30x30 initiative, which commits to conserving 30% of the state’s lands and waters by 2030. (File photo by Dan Ladd)

A week after New York voters narrowly passed a controversial ballot proposal related to a land acquisition in the Adirondacks, the offices of both Gov. Kathy Hochul and New York Attorney General Letitia James announced the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement they state will streamline the process of acquiring future lands.
