Following the early antlerless and youth deer hunts, Oct. 16-19, the number of harvested deer in Minnesota ticked up by 11% this season as of Monday Oct. 20.
“We were slow at the beginning. We were actually quite a bit behind last year, at first. … It wasn’t until really this last weekend where we caught up, and we surpassed last year,” said Paul Burr, the DNR’s acting big-game program coordinator.
